Beyond Self Care: Igniting the SPARK in Yourself and Those You Serve

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In this session, Brooke and Ashley will share how a deep realization that we all have unbreakable SPARK inside forced them to challenge their own narratives about being damaged, and transformed how they show up to their community, family, and the non-profit they run.

They will highlight how this SPARK, within every human being, is the birthplace of well-being, common sense, intelligence, solutions, creativity, and innovation and share lessons of hope they have learned from their life’s most impactful and unsuspecting teachers: sex trafficking survivors, juvenile inmates, and children in the foster care system.

They will examine what truly recognizing our own mental health can do for us in the face of burnout and compassion fatigue and explore how to uncover innate resilience and deeper connections by understanding how the mind works and recognizing their own SPARK.

Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how the mind works and impacts day-today life, recognition of innate resilience in themselves and the youth they serve, the ability to serve youth with a deeper sense of connection, and an understanding of how recognition of innate resilience directly links to stress resistance in the face of burn-out.
